VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION

Trimuse Entertainment Inc. (“Trimuse”) is a Canadian company that is a world-class leader in film production and distribution. Its mandate is to develop, produce, and distribute high-quality motion pictures. Since its inception as a distribution company in 1999, Trimuse has acquired and distributed over thirty Canadian and international films.

Trimuse is currently looking for a Vice President, Marketing & Distribution, who will be responsible for directing and overseeing the overall business development and sales, acquisition, distribution, and production process for Trimuse’s feature films from inception to completion.  The location of work for this role will be based at our office at 372 Victoria Park Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4E 3S8. We also offer hybrid work arrangements for employees.

This is a permanent full-time position based on a 40-hour work week. Further information regarding the position can be found below.

 

Position

Duties for this role will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Establishing the company’s marketing strategies as well as sales, acquisition, distribution, and production objectives for the company;
  • Authorizing and organizing the establishment of the company’s Marketing and Distributions division, as well as approving policies and procedures within this group;
  • Allocating human and financial resources to implement Marketing and Distribution policies, establishing financial and administrative controls, formulating and approving promotional marketing campaigns, and approving personnel planning within this division;
  • Assessing film acquisition and distribution proposals and opportunities, including reviewing scripts, search for finished movies, and meeting producers and sales representatives, to explore possibilities of producing or distributing films and television series within Canada;
  • Managing the film production process from inception to completion and overseeing all aspects of creation and production;
  • Ensuring that each project has clear objectives, set performance indicators and milestones, as well as monitor project performance including respect of set timelines, resources allocation, and that projects meet the company’s quality standards;
  • Sourcing and developing ideas for feature films, including buying scripts and purchasing rights to intellectual property;
  • Evaluating comparative research on marketing strategies within the domestic and international film and television industry to promote Trimuse Entertainment’s brand presence; and
  • Reviewing key creative elements to ensure that the project does not pose any legal or financial risks to the company;
  • Ensuring that feature films meet all legal and technical requirements in post-production; and
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to producers to drive continuous improvement, make recommendations of best practices, and design processes to increase efficiency and ensure implementation; and
  • Representing the company, or delegate representatives, to act on behalf of the company in negotiations, including with financiers, studios, or other sources to raise funds to produce feature films.

 

Required Skills

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing as well as production, development, sales, acquisitions, and/or distribution of feature films and TV series
  • Must have international film production and acquisition/sales experience
  • Merchandising experience is an asset
  • Management and event production experience are assets
  • Willing and available for international travel.
  • Fluent in English, as this role will be required to communicate and conduct work in English.

 

Compensation

We are offering the following compensation package for this role:

  • Salary: CAD $100,000 per year, based on 40 hours of work per week
  • Vacation: 14 days of paid vacation per year
  • Other: Dental insurance and pension provided. Incremental raises in accordance with standard company policies.
